The Setting<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Greetings NAGA members. The General Convention of the Episcopal Church and our NAGA Triennial Meeting are rapidly approaching.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NAGA will meet as a body and stay at the Galt House Hotel, 140 N 4th<\/sup> Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202, a lovely old but recently renovated hotel on the Ohio River. Additional information on the accommodations available at the Galt House Hotel can be found at the end of this article. <\/p>\n\n\n

Kentucky International Convention Center<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Louisville is a vibrant, compact, and walkable city with lots of amenities. Our location is convenient to the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC) at 221 South 4th<\/sup> Street, where the Episcopal General Convention will be held, and the Yum Center. The Galt House is also furnishing our meeting space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Overview<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 The General Convention will have three Eucharists when we will be serving \u2014 Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 We will have a booth at the Convention Market; I believe this is a first for us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 The installation of our new board will be at Calvery Episcopal Church, 821 S 4th<\/sup> Street, a mile north of downtown. <\/p>\n\n\n

Abbey of Gethsemani <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

\u2022 Bishop Curry\u2019s revival will be Saturday evening (June 22nd<\/sup>) at the Yum Center, 1 Arena Plaza, a 22,000-seat arena a few blocks from the Galt House. The forecast last summer was 15,000+ attendees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While our General Convention plans are not yet complete, our Triennial Meeting includes a number of workshops and excursions (see Agenda<\/strong> below) \u2014 a liturgical threads workshop, possibly a flower workshop, and a presentation\/workshop from CM Almy. For our field trip we are planning on a tour of the Abbey of Gethsemani in Trappist, Kentucky, and a distillery tour. On Sunday evening (June 23rd<\/sup>) the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) are hosting their 50th<\/sup> anniversary party, and on Monday (June 24th<\/sup>) the Diocese of Kentucky is hosting an event. Adding to the suspense of this convention will be the election of our next presiding bishop; what an exciting time. See you in Louisville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
