I just had the joy to read A Manual For Altar Guilds by The Rev. Robert Picken. This is a wonderfully funny and in-depth look at what it really means to be a “minister of the altar guild.” The level of detail makes it a good read for seasoned guild members as well as those just starting out! A great read for all involved in or around the sacristy and sanctuary. There are real life situations (and disasters evaded) depicted and overcome.
I recognize some of the contributors from their content; I have great respect for these folk. There are great diagrams, examples, and sample schedules including excellent starts for newbies or those who need to revamp their practices. This is a must read for all sacristans and clergy.
