The following offices are open for nominations for the Triennial years 2024-2027. Please send nominations to Joan Konecny at joan.konecny@gmail.com. All nominations are to be received no later than February 28, 2024.

 President

The president shall …

  1. Preside at all meetings of the National Altar Guild Association, the executive committee and board
  2. Have general supervision of all matters pertaining to NAGA
  3. Be editor-in-chief of the newsletter and a member of the finance committee
  4. Appoint committees as may be necessary and is a member of those committees ex-officio, with the exception of the nominating committee
  5. Report regularly to the executive committee, the board and the National Altar Guild Association at its meetings. 
  6. Be the custodian of the working records of the National Altar Guild Association and arrange for preservation of the National Altar Guild Association archives.

First Vice-President

The first vice-president shall …

  1. Preside in the absence of the president and shall assume those duties at such times.
  2. Represent the National Altar Guild Association when necessary 
  3. Serve as program chairman for the General Convention/Triennial Meeting of the National Altar Guild Association 
  4. Perform such other duties as requested by the president.

Second Vice-President

The second vice-president shall… 

  1. Preside in the absence of the president and the first vice-president and shall assume those duties at such times 
  2. Serve as the membership chairman 
  3. Perform such duties as requested by the president

Secretary

The secretary shall…

  1. Receive and reply to routine correspondence
  2. Give written notice of all meetings, together with important agenda and keep the minutes of the executive committee, board and all NAGA information when needed, and have available, at all times, a copy of the bylaws.

Treasurer

The treasurer shall…

  1. Be responsible for all funds of NAGA, their receipt, investment and disbursement
  2. Keep an accurate record of all monies, including monies received and all disbursements made on behalf of NAGA 
  3. Prepare a quarterly report to the board, post a bond and arrange a Triennial/General Convention by an accredited auditor
  4. Provide printed reports of both the treasurer and auditor at each Triennial/General Convention meeting of NAGA
  5. Manage funds in accordance with financial policies as determined by the finance committee as set forth in Article X, Section 2. 
  6. Chair the finance committee, serve on any other committees regarding finances and perform such duties as requested by the President.

*All officers shall begin their term of office at the installation of new officers with the exception of the office of Treasurer. The office of Treasurer shall begin on the first day of January following triennium*

Chairman, Nominating Committee

  1. The chairman of the nominating committee, shall, through the newsletter, invite written recommendations for eligible candidates to fill the slate to be voted at the Triennial/General Convention meeting of the National Altar Guild Association. The slate shall consist of one candidate for each of the five elective offices and one chairman of the nominating committee. Recommendations are to be received no later than the date specified by the chairman of the nominating committee and all nominations must be made with prior consent of the nominees. The slate of nominees must be presented to the membership of The National Altar Guild Association no less than three weeks before the election.
